Трудовой доход. Вознаграждение за труд
Доход человека подразделяется на трудовой и нетрудовой (unearned income). Под трудовым доходом подразумевается заработная плата, жалованье, гонорары, комиссионные, а также прибыль от предпринимательской деятельности. Нетрудовой доход - это прибыль, полученная от использования природных ресурсов и капитала в виде ренты, дивидендов или процентов. Трудовой доход обычно облагается налогом по прогрессивной шкале. Экономическая наука не проводит различия между этими доходами, поскольку подразумевается, что все факторы производства приносят доход. Cм. Incidence of taxation, Progressive taxation.
